Our Beliefs

Here is a brief summary of our beliefs:

God

There is one God, eternal, morally pure, good, powerful and self-existing in three Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) who are to be equally loved, honored, and adored. (1 Timothy 1)

Sin

All humanity has participated in the first man’s (Adam) fall from his original sinless state and is therefore lost in sin, separated from God, helpless to save himself and in need of a savior. (Romans 3)

The Bible

The Bible (made up of the Old and New Testament) is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3)

Salvation

The sovereign God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, out of His infinite wisdom and will, and His love for His creation and His own glory, has chosen to redeem lost sinners from every tribe, tongue and people group by the substitutionary and atoning death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ.  This salvation is found only in Jesus Christ and is by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2)

The Church

Christ has established his Church to gather and grow his people, by means of the ministry of the Word, prayer, and the sacraments of baptism (administered by water to believers and their children) and the Lord’s Supper (in which Christ is spiritually present for the nourishment of believers by faith). The Church is God’s Plan A for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the nations of the earth. (Matthew 28)

Last Things

At death, the Christian’s soul passes immediately into the presence of God and the unbeliever’s soul is eternally separated from God unto condemnation and suffering in hell.  Jesus Christ will return to earth, visibly and bodily, at a time when He is not expected, to judge the living and the dead, renewing all things according to the eternal plan of God.(Revelation 21)
